Ask the youth to identify qualities that would help them grow temporally or spiritually and that they also would like to strengthen in themselves. Have each youth write an individual plan to increase ability and strengthen weaknesses in that quality. Have the youth take turns sharing with the quorum or class what they want to improve. Then invite quorum or class members to offer ideas and suggestions for how each youth can meet his or her goal.
Follow up with encouragement and reporting among the quorum or class members. Consider incorporating some of the new or improved qualities and talents into future youth activities. Add to Planner. Identify other faith groups in your area. Host an activity for multiple faith groups to come together in a spirit of unity. This could be a service project, a shared meal, an outdoor activity or sport, or another event.
Work with the bishop to meet with leaders of these congregations and coordinate efforts to appreciate one another and serve the community together. Learn the importance of teamwork and letting others help you accomplish goals. Have the youth form one or several tight, closed circles with each youth facing inward, shoulder-to-shoulder.
Each of the circle participants must commit to being completely trustworthy and totally willing to physically support another youth inside the circle.

Ordinarily, as two teens date over time they move toward isolation and away from accountability. I challenge students to move in the opposite direction. Even for adults. Dear friends like these will be there for you when you break up, which would otherwise be a very lonely ordeal. I think the best way to learn about your gender and the opposite gender is to have a group of friends that comprises both guys and girls. If you are called to marry, God has given you the best friend you were created for, but outside of marriage members of the opposite sex are not able to be your best friend.
The piece here that young people need to grapple with is the question of how important permanence is in best friends. There are other reasons too, but when I choose my closest friends I want them to be there for a long time.

This will help keep years in dating and prevent age. We were great years for a age before we started dating. We could spend years together just talking and laughing with our friends or by ourselves. We got to know each other and learn for each other relationships. We respected each other. I give this advice to you from my own years. I hang out with my man, speak to people about Jesus, and am surrounded by people holier and more talented than me.

Youth ministry dating series
My guess is that the vast majority of youth ministries teach about relationships and sex during the month of February. If it is not February, then it is some other time of the year. So why am I telling you that you must teach on them if you are already doing it? What I am wondering is if we are doing it wrong.
What does it look like to grow toward accountability in a dating relationship and away from isolation (“accountability up, isolation down”)?.
I think they would have worked it out if they had been left to do so. But, Mom got involved. Wanted to make everything okay and like it was before. Even now looking back on pictures, so many happy fun times, I feel sad for the dating who I think just needed time to find relationships friendship again.

I have heard of youth leaders setting the expectation ahead of time that if they want to date someone from the youth group they are expected to keep attending even if know break up.
